RASA
is an IP, a group project for me and my partner Jia Hui for our Final
Year Project / Major Project.
CONCEPT
Rasas are the
guardians of Malaysian heritage, embodying good fortune
and blessings. These small figurines symbolize the small joys of life,
delivered through the rich tapestry of local delicacies. Whether
stirring nostalgia in the hearts of locals or serving as
companions for travellers seeking a deeper connection to
Malaysian culture, Rasas offer a warm embrace and a sense of belonging to
all who experience them.
Rationale
Why kuih?
A household name that encapsulate the essence of Malaysia, showcases the
rich cultural diversity and culinary heritage. Often associated with
family gatherings, festivals, and childhood experiences, they can foster
nostalgia. They are also known for their vibrant colors, intricate
designs, and varied textures, making them visually appealing and
attractive to the audience.
Why Blind box figurine?
The combination of surprise, collectibility and engagement makes blind
boxes very popular for today's consumer-driven culture. The gamification
of shopping provides a fun experience for the audience to learn more
about
As a figurine, they can act as companions for the audience.

I wanted more of a toy factory in the Victorian England time period feel
than the typical minimalistic logos.

rip my back broke my shoulder hurts my neck broke my head hurts
On a serious note, I wished I could've partook more in the character
concept art however this is a group project so we had to make use of our
strengths and in this case, I had to focus more on 3D than 2D.
As 3D works, there are many un-saved crashes i have encountered, so I do
not thank that lol, but it taught to to save my work like 10k times in a
span of like 10 hours of work per model, yay! will be extra helpful to
have this habit in the future.
This project would've never been possible without my partner's efforts
(and also without my back giving out on me). It has been a wild ride to
rush all of this in just 1 semester, but I'm happy with how it turned
out.
It has been a pleasure working with you Jia Hui!
Special thanks to our lecturers Ms Anis and Mr Kannan for giving us
feedback throughout the semester and giving us advice as well. :)
