My world building prompt for environment design is:
Enchanted Forest | Peaceful setting | Medieval era | Fantasy genre | Celestial Motif

This is heavily inspired by Ellinia, an area in Maplestory

Fig 1.2, Moodboard

Moodboard consists of floating buildings and elven buildings. The elven buildings usually have the tips of their roofs pointy, so I want to include that aspect into my hero asset. I also want to make my hero asset feel 'magical'.

My Pinterest board also consists of inspirations that contributed to this project and the following ones after this.

The supporting building was drawn off referencing to another value painting in exercises.

The hero asset building was drawn and refined following off the exercise/ world building value painting for the hero asset.

The first draft of hero asset is then changed into the one below.

I wanted a bigger asset because of the function of this building. The function of the building is to be a cathedral. I used the original tower as supporting buildings for the main. I thought of using the building Aincrad from the animation Sword Art Online as an inspiration.

Fig 4.5, Cleaning up lineart

For the colour palette, I wanted to translate a very fantasy and magical feel.

Since the buildings are round, it's a bit hard to get the perspective right, so I turned to blender to block out the building. Even though it's a 'block out' it took me way too long with many trial and errors because its a round building.

Fig 9, 1st failed attempt

For the second attempt, I first used the boolean modifier for the doors and windows in the walls, but then I found it to be not effective so I used the array modifier for a plane with cuts in it for the windows and doors.
