3 || Reflection

Experience
My journey through this typography module was challenging and very enlightening to say the least. Though challenging, sometimes I find myself actually having lots of fun sketching type designs and such before having to go through the gruelling process done in Ai. Now, at the end of the module, I have grown more comfortable to work with Ai compared to the beginning when it was something so new and foreign to me. Because of this module, I now sometimes find myself unconsciously paying attention to the typography on many different kinds of designs and making comments on them to myself. 


Observations
Through this module, I was able to observe how much there is to a letter that seemed so simple. The deconstruction of letterforms had a lot to them. I also was able to observe how type can be so different on different types of screens or media. Last but not least, because Mr Vinod gives feedback for everyone during the class so everyone else can learn from it, I was able to observe the different styles of design people has and how they portray typography in their own way.


Findings
Through my struggles in this module, I learned about many things that have never even crossed my mind for even a second. Before starting off on this module, I wondered what's so special about 'words' to have an entire module on its own. It's eye-opening to see how much effort, thought, work, and time is put into merely letters after being able to experience it firsthand. I now also have a whole new respect for type designers because of this!
